The Canadian Coast Guard Auxiliary - Maritimes (CCGA-M) is committed to promoting safety and preparedness among the boating community through our Pleasure Craft Safety Check (PCSC) program. This initiative is designed to help recreational boaters ensure that their vessels are equipped with the necessary safety equipment.

What We Do

Our trained volunteers conduct free, non-punitive safety checks on pleasure crafts. These checks are educational and aim to enhance safety awareness among boat owners and operators. By participating in a courtesy check, boaters can learn about essential safety equipment and improve public safety on the water.

Program Highlights

  • Free Safety Inspections: Our CCGA-M members assess your boat's safety equipment and provide recommendations without imposing fines or penalties.

  • Educational Focus: Each check is an opportunity to educate boat owners about safety standards and best practices.

  • Volunteer-Driven: Passionate and knowledgeable volunteers drive our program, bringing valuable expertise and advice to the boating community.

Request a Check

Whether you are a boat owner interested in having your vessel checked or looking to contribute to boating safety as a volunteer, the PCSC program offers opportunities to engage with and contribute to the safety of our boating community. Training for volunteers is provided, ensuring that all participants are equipped to perform thorough and effective safety checks.
